Harald Sauer re-imagines and renovates planting

Harald Sauer's work as a planting designer and public greenspace manager is attracting plenty of attention in Germany. Now it's time for the rest of us to sit up and take notice too!

Harald is Head Gardener for Ebert Park in the Rhineland city of Ludwigshafen where he was faced with many historic features that had to be expensively maintained. His solutions have involved simplifying some existing features and making them more contemporary in feel, some dramatic new plantings to re-purpose a now non-functional water feature and some 'minimalist' plantings where robust perennials hold their own against weeds such as ground elder. There's a huge amount to learn and be inspired with here!
