Neil Lucas - Keep up to date with Grasses
Ornamental grasses really only took off in the 1990s, so we have been on a steep learning curve. Neil Lucas, of Knoll Gardens in Dorset, was a pioneer grower and there can be no-one better to bring us up to date. What have we learnt? About how to use grasses in gardens, about their growth over time, about how in some cases how we have learnt that some species can be a bit too much of a good thing! Neil will discuss some of the newer cultivars, some of his early favourites that have stood the test of time, some that deserve to be better known and will touch on the possibilities of using some sedge species as ground cover.
