Troy Scott-Smith on Winter

Winter - A season for 'Putting the Garden to Bed'? Not at all, winter is a season for doing and for enjoying. The bare blanket of earth, denuded of growth need not be. If harnessed properly, the potency of the season can be as exciting and as exuberant as the summer garden.

We will look at why we should all garden for winter, I'll share some of the best winter gardens, we'll take a more detailed look at the winter garden I designed and planted at Bodnant and we will look at the subtlety of winter gardening at Sissinghurst and the plants and flowers to one can use.
